Colin Scharf is an audio engineer, creative director, and the driving force behind Electric Prairie Recordings at Vision Studios.
Colin approaches every session with the same belief: great recordings happen when artists feel at home. Whether you're tracking your debut EP or producing a podcast, he brings the same focus, inspiration, and empathy for the art and artist to the room.
Based in Mankato, Minnesota, Colin is the person that others call when they’re ready to take the next step in their musical journey.
As a songwriter, producer, engineer, mixer, arranger, filmmaker, author, and teacher, Scharf’s multifaceted skillset brings a unique depth to every project.
Colin works out of Vision Studios in Mankato, MN and is available for recording sessions, production work, mixing, engineering, songwriting, live sound, and live performance recordings.

“I love recording music with Colin. His experience and breadth of musical knowledge is immediately apparent when stepping into the studio with him. He is details oriented and cares about the projects on which he works. He is a very creative individual so he's got plenty of ideas to bring to the table should you decide to take him up on them.
With that said, I wouldn't categorize him as pushy or overbearing with those ideas. He brings his own artistic flair to recording projects but is also very adaptable in different situations with different artists. He's worked with a multitude of acts with a multitude of styles and has yielded excellent results with them. I will absolutely be recording with Colin at Electric Prairie again in the future."
